Lord?

“And it shall be at that day, saith Yahweh, that thou shalt call me Husband; and shalt call me no more Baali. For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.” Hosea 2:16-17

    In Wesley’s Commentary concerning the breakdown of the specific words used in verse 16-17 of Hosea 2 we find, “Baali - That is, my Lord…By their name - Their names perishing with them.”

    “Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.” Jer 23:27

   Strong's Hebrew Number 1168 Hebrew word: Ba'al {bah'-al}Strong’s shows: Baal = "lord" (Baal equals Lord). Strong’s says: Lord or Baal was the “supreme male divinity of the Phoenicians or Canaanites.” Have we considered that the title “Lord” is actually a name?

God?

So what about the word “God,” is it also just a title?  “God---The common Teutonic word for a personal object of religious worship…applied to all those superhuman beings of the heathen mythologies. The word ‘god’ on the conversion of the Teutonic peoples were converted to Christianity was adopted as the same name of the one Supreme Being…”----Encyclopedia Britannica, 11^th edition

    James Hastings says of “God,” “after the conversion of Teutons to Christianity the word came to be applied to the Christian Deity…”---Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics, vol 6, page 302

   Let’s look at the following Scripture from the King James Version: “But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.” Isaiah 65:11 (KJV)

   Now lets uncover what Satan would just love to keep covered! The same verse but with a literal translation from The Scriptures: “But you are those who forsake YHWH [written in Hebrew], who forget My set-apart mountain, who prepare a table for Gad, and who fill a drink offering for Meni.” Isaiah 65:11 (TS)

    We read in Come Out of Her My People, by C.J. Koster: “All commentators agree that Gad [pronounced gawd, see Strong’s #1409] is a pagan deity, and so is Meni. Gad is usually interpreted as the well-known Syrian or Canaanite deity of ‘Good Luck’ or ‘Fortune,’ and Meni the deity of ‘Destiny.’ This Gad is written in the Hebrew as GD, but the Massoretes afterwards vowel-pointed it, adding an ‘a,’ to give us ‘Gad.’ However, we find other references in Scripture to a similar deity, if not the same one, also spelt GD in the Hebrew text but this time vowel-pointed to read ‘Gawd’ or ‘God’ (Jos. 11:17, 12:7, 13:5), where we find ‘Baal-Gawd’ or ‘Baal-God’ according to the vowel-pointing Massoretic Hebrew text. This Baal-Gawd or Baal-God was obviously a place named after their deity.” ….Lord-God is pagan.

Then those who feared  Yahweh spoke to one another, and Yahweh gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear Yahweh and who esteem His Name.

We have a long way to go yet, but we are very grateful to Yahweh for what we’re now able to send out. May His Name be magnified!

Our 15-year old video mixer board, which would cost about $6500 to replace, was fixed for $749. The problem turned out to be electronic capacitors (89 total) that needed to be replaced.

   A special thanks to Deacon Jerry Gortney from Yahweh’s Assembly in Messiah (YAIM) for helping us to discover what the actual problem was.

The Feast of Tabernacles was held for the period Thursday 27th September, 2007 to Wednesday 3rd October, 2007. These feasts were kept at Ocean View, Hingwan Drive, Mayaro, Trinidad West Indies. The theme of our feast was “Let Yahweh be glorified, it is the time of our rejoicing.”

    We celebrated the Feasts with our visiting brethren of whom there were those who remained on camp with us and those who visited occasionally.    On both High Days and the weekly Shabbath, services were conducted which comprised of worship songs, special offerings, prayers, the blowing of the shofar, sermons and sermonettes by Brothers of the faith also, readings

Feast of Tabernacles 2007 was held at Portarlington, Victoria,  where we camped in tents for the 9 days. Weather was windy but we managed to get through without any problems. It was a joyful feast. My husband did all the work during the 9 days. Lito, Ester’s husband also assisted.

We had a recent visit from an Assembly of believers located in Rolla, MO this first Sabbath in November. They also visited back in January and were pictured along with the rest of us here at Kingdom City sitting in the dining area.

   It’s been good to have the extra fellowship and we look forward to a time when all brethren can gather together, which we believe will ultimately be when Yahshua returns. Yahweh evidently has us all separated around the world and few in number, so as to rely on Him more, rather than ourselves, Judges 7:2.
