Yahweh’s Feast was great! That is probably one of the best ways to describe YAIY’s first sponsored Feast of Tabernacles. Though a small gathering there was a strong family atmosphere. More pictures are archived in our online picture gallery. Below is a sing along with a picture of speakers this year. Join with us next year as we continue to sing praises to His Name and worship Him through His Son Yahshua the Messiah!

Sabbath (7th day) or Sunday (1st day)?

"Centuries of the Christian era passed away before Sunday was observed by the Christian church as a sabbath. History does not furnish us with a single proof or indication that it was at any time so observed previous to the sabbatical edict of Constantine in A.D. 321"   — Wm Dornville: Examination of Six Texts

"In the interval between the days of apostles and the conversion of Constantine [4th. cent.] the Christian commonwealth changed its aspect... Rites and ceremonies of which neither Paul nor Peter ever heard crept into use then claimed the rank of divine institutions."  — Dr Killen: The Ancient Church

“In the Western Church the seventh day continued to be observed quite generally till the fifth century." — Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge

“I gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between us, so they would know that I Yahweh made them holy,”   — Ezek 20:12 NIV

Sign: “To place some distinguishing mark upon (a thing or person); to mark with a sign. To stamp as a sign upon something. rare. A mark or device having some special meaning or import attached to it, or serving to distinguish the thing on which it is put. A mark of attestation (or ownership), written or stamped upon a document, seal, etc. A device borne on a banner, shield, etc.; a cognizance or badge.         Please help to reach out  to others. Make your contribution to “YAIY OUTREACH.” This is above regular tithes and offerings. The basic tithes and offerings at this time are only enough to facilitate normal operations at the Assembly. Please pray for Yahweh’s will to be done. Your support is appreciated!

Why Not Christian?

The question is often asked: "Why do you not call yourself Christians?" This collective name for the called out believers in Messiah is recorded three times in Scripture:

Acts 11:26, "And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that for a whole year they assembled themselves with the (church) assembly. And the disciples were called Christians, first in Antioch.

Acts 26:28, "Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost you persuade me to be a Christian."

1st Peter 4:16, "Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify Yahweh on this behalf."

Our basic foundation in all that we are to learn in our lives as children of Yahweh must be grounded on our knowledge and understanding from the Word of Yahweh.

We are also told to prove all things and hold on to that which is righteous and according to His Word. We know that translators of the Scriptures have made "Changes." Some are done intentionally and many by mistake, but be that as it may, our duty as His called out people, we are to read the Scriptures and study them to be accountable in being able to apply Yahweh's Word in Truth.

His Word is not to be blended with false teachings of this world, where that is anything from compromising with Scripture to blatant lies which are being preached from the pulpits today. Many religions completely ignore the Law which Yahweh has set out by His Word. We are not to add nor take away anything our Creator has given us in His Sacred Word.

Now to answer the question posed above. We know Yahshua the Messiah was born a Jew of Hebrew origin and that His very Name was Hebrew, meaning "Yahweh our Savior, the Anointed One." He came in His Father's Name. So, in the first place why change it? Think logically! Would you have to change your name if you had to go to another country? Would you change your name if you had to introduce yourself to a foreigner? I think not.

The New Testament was translated from Hebrew into the Greek, then into Roman/Latin. Now, we have the third hand, plus, translation before us in English.

If a problem is found in any translation, the considerate Bible scholar should in his wisdom go back to the original language in which something was written to get the True meaning of a passage or of a word that creates questions as to what it truly means. Well, this is one of the words which given us problems.

The Greek/Latin word for "Christ", Christos, Strong's #5547, as anointed, i.e. the Messiah, an epithet of Jesus:-Christ. It also gives us a variable collection of meanings referring to #5548, chrio, translated through the idea of contact; to smear or rub with oil; to consecrate to an office or religious service. Again referring us to another root word, Strong's #5530, chraomai, "graze" and other meanings. This goes on to refer you to yet another word, Strong's # 5495, cheir, such as to touch slightly, handle, to furnish what is needed, and so it goes on. Look this up for yourself if you wish to study any further.

Knowing this, would it not be better, and more fitting, to go back to using the original Hebrew translation of this word, Messiah, which has NO other unusual meaning but Anointed. Strong's Concordance agrees the word means Messiah!

Therefore, when we go to the word "Christian," in the KJV Strong's #5546 Christianos, we see that the correct and more accurate translation should have read Messianic: "Followers of the Anointed One."

You may also note we prefer not to use the word "church", Strong's #1577, as this could mean building as well as assembly. So, why not use the right and proper word Assembly?

Let us strive to restore Yahweh's Truth in our hearts, so that we may know His Will.

...May Yahweh guide you in your quest for His Truth, in Yahshua's Saving Name,

                                                                                                                    - Elder Lionel Gets (South Africa)

Wherefore Yahweh also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Yahshua every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Yahshua Messiah is Master, to the glory of Elohim the Father.

Newly Baptized!

We’re grateful to have two new members added to the Body of Messiah. Joe Marshall and Tim Stallings were baptized during the Feast of Tabernacles this year. Joe traveled from California, while Tim traveled from North Carolina to keep this year’s Feast. Please keep these and any other new brethren in prayer that they might overcome to the end and do Yahweh’s will with His Spirit guiding them in Messiah Yahshua.

YAIY Bylaws Approved

YAIY Bylaws were approved at the Feast of Tabernacles. These bylaws are available at your request. For those desiring to be a YAIY member we now have in place a “Member Information and Contact Form” (MICF) which we need to keep on file.

If you are baptized in Yahshua’s Name and desire to work more closely with Yahweh’s Assembly in Yahshua (YAIY), please feel free to contact us for your MICF which will start the process. We have special projects and benefits for all YAIY members and we hope to all grow in various ways in moving forward and reaching out to others around the world with Yahweh’s Word.

The eyes of Yahweh are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The face of Yahweh is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and Yahweh heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.  Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but Yahweh delivereth him out of them all, Psalm 34:15-19
