Open House a Success!

An open house can be an exciting event and the one held at YAIY on January 20, 2007 was most certainly that.  Being back in the building we had been locked out of for over 2 years was one reason to celebrate.  Invitations were sent and attendees came from Colorado, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina and Missouri.  There were many hugs, handshakes, laughter and joy shared by all. The threat of a snowstorm
didn’t keep some 60 people of Yahweh away and it was so good seeing
many we hadn’t seen in a long time.  The sisters from Kingdom City and others prepared a wonderful meal and it was enjoyed by all. Jan Meyer crafted a scrapbook using clippings from old YNCA newsletters from 1989 to 2004.  This scrapbook is in the dining area at Kingdom City and will be an ongoing book of memories.  The drive to Missouri was worth it to see the love shown among Yahweh’s people and we’ve received several calls from some who suggest another get together before long.

Passover

Just stop and think. Think of the ultimate sacrifice Yahshua made on our behalf. Without a doubt He didn’t deserve the torture and extreme way in which He was put to death. But He accepted it, and willingly died as our perfect unblemished Passover lamb. What does Yahweh require from us to honor this humbling gift? All our possessions? No, even though these too are gifts from above. No, Yahweh simply asks us to stop on one special evening, and properly remember. Remember the cost of our sins and the price our Savior paid. Passover services will be held this year in Kingdom City, Missouri at the YAIY Assembly building on the 14th of Abib (sunset April 2 - sunset April 3) at 7:00pm (i.e., just after sunset on Monday, April 2, 2007). A biblical day begins and ends at sunset. Please join us to remember.  “…this do in remembrance of me.” – Luke 22:19b

“And this day shall be unto you for a memorial, and ye shall keep it a feast to Yahweh: throughout your generations ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.” – Exodus 12:14

Unleavened Bread

“And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread to Yahweh: seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. In the first day you shall have a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work.” – Exodus 23:6-7

Feast of Unleavened Bread Services will also be held at the YAIY Assembly building in Kingdom City Missouri. Sabbath Services will be held at 1:30pm and Bible Studies will be scheduled at a later time. Please plan to join us for these annual Sabbath services.

DVD and CD Ordering System

If you’ve already indicated that you’ve wanted to be on a regular monthly mailing, no need to do anything. We will automatically send you free monthly mailings.

The ordering of CDs and DVDs can be done a couple different ways, but the easiest is probably to just call us toll free at 1-877-642-4101. The other options would be to order online at our website or to actually just tear this page out and mail it after you’ve circled the ones you want. Whatever option you choose, you’ll receive either a Video DVD(s) with a full service in visually appealing graphics along with the ability to see the singers, speakers, etc. If you choose the Audio CD(s) you’ll receive high quality digital sound of the full service which you can take with you on the road either with your car CD player or to the gym or for a walk with a portable CD player.

MP3s are another alternative that we offer. These MP3s can be downloaded from our website at www.yaiy.org, but for file size purposes we’ve only archived the messages. This is true also of the Windows Media Video (WMV) files that are archived online. The WMV files will offer the message, but not the songs, moderating, etc. These are all available free with absolutely no charge.

Looking Ahead to Feast of Tabernacles 2007

Camp Mihaska in Bourbon, Missouri is being considered as a possible Feast of Tabernacles 2007 site. This Salvation Army run campsite offers a lot. One can look at their website www.campmihaska.com.

We plan on using the Main Lodge to live, eat and have services. To do this we were told there must be at least 20 people attending. This lodge will be under construction this spring where each room (sleeping 4) will have its own bathroom.

This camp's reservationist said they will work with us to give us the least expensive rates possible. When they send us these rates they will also indicate meal cost, 3 per day, none of weekly or annual Sabbaths, with food satisfying our Kosher needs. We understand that the costs will be per room, not per person. But, we will not know for sure until we get their rates.

After looking at the website and what follows below (Things To Do), please e-mail any thoughts, ideas, feelings to ElderMeyer@yaiy.org by March 1, 2007.

Things To Do

The following are some of the options available for fun and relaxing times at this particular camp. Please note that some do cost a little extra, but hey, isn’t that what your 2nd tithe is for?

Camp Mihaska Water Park (operates May 1 – September 30) boasts a three story water slide, zero entry pool with water sprays, a lap pool, a vortex and an in-pool bubble tub. The pool is lighted for night swims. Certified lifeguards are provided. Usually, a three hour daily swim session is provided for those in camp, but pool hours can be adjusted to accommodate your group schedule.

Team Adventure Ropes Course offers varying degrees of challenge on 15 low rope elements and 4 high rope elements. Certified instructors provide faith-based character building education for both young and old. Sessions can be customized to your program time and needs.

Wagon Rides take campers on a 30-45 minute tour of camp in the “back 40 acres” of fields and woods. A low wagon of hay pulled by a tractor offers a very safe, fun evening. Each trip can accommodate about 30 passengers.

Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, and Miniature Golf are available day or night. Fishing and Paddle boating are relaxing venues offered weather permitting.  Hiking and Caving can be done on sight. If long walks in the woods are your desire, we have miles of trails for you to explore. Horseback riding, Float trips, Canoe trips can be arranged with a nearby, qualified vendor.

It is our pleasure to offer this Spanish New Testament with the restored Sacred Names. We pray it will be a blessing to the Spanish speaking brethren that might not have a Sacred Name Bible in Spanish. These are available free for the asking, please limit one per individual request.

We are in the process of updating our foreign online literature section with new editions of Telugu (India), Danish, Tagalog and Visayan (Philippines), Hmong, and Spanish.

Be Unleavened

With Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread coming up, the following list of basic ingredients would be best avoided during April 3nd-10th. Not all are scripturally leavening agents, but do “puff up”.

Leaven

Yeast

Sodium Bicarbonate

Potassium Bicarbonate

Baking Soda

Baking Powder

Such things as unleavened crackers are perfect to use for Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread.  It should be mentioned that many vitamin products have yeast, so be sure to check the labels. Now is the time to prepare, so as not to have a lot of products to throw out.
