What is wrong with Valentines Day?

If you attend public school, you probably have noticed that your school is encouraging you and your classmates to share cards with each other for Valentines Day.  It may be tempting to participate because you may be teased by your classmates if you do not do so.  So what will you do?

      Great Traits

Yahweh expects His people to stand for the truth, even if we get teased by others for obeying Him.  Ask Him to strengthen you in your faith and resolve to do the right thing.  Your parents probably already explained to you that observing pagan holidays is displeasing to Yahweh, and now would be a great time to remind ourselves of the reasons why we are not to participate in them.

Have nothing to do with the acts of darkness. They don't produce anything good...

—Eph 5:11

The symbols of Valentines Day—cupids, bows and arrows, and heart shapes have no place in the worship of our Heavenly Father.  While the origin of Valentines Day is debatable, we know it was celebrated by the Romans.  We also know that the Romans worshipped all kinds of pagan deities.

It is extremely important that we avoid doing things that Yahweh condemns.  Stay strong in your faith and do not let your classmates make you feel bad for worshipping Yahweh correctly.  Keep the true Sabbath and Holy Days and you will be blessed.

Winter Indoor Game!

Is it too cold to play outside?  Don’t fret!  Why not play a fun game indoors with your family?  Try  a scavenger hunt!  As a suggestion, listed below are some common items found in your home or make up your own list of items.  Gather friends and family together and break into teams.  Give each a copy of the list of items.  Set a time limit and try to find all the items on the list.  The team with the most points wins!  Remember, someone must volunteer to hide all the items!  This person will also be responsible for letting you know when your time is up and adding up the scores.
