Being a light no matter how big or small you are

One thing is clear when you are a child, and that is the fact that you are to obey and learn from those older than you.  But you also have many chances to teach others as well.  How?  If you have siblings older or younger than you, and they do not act as you believe they should, you can grab a hold of the moment and shine your light regardless of your age!  Already you can practice and use the wisdom Yahweh has blessed you with!  For example: If you notice that your siblings are not giving proper respect to your parent(s), you can show them through your actions how it is done.  Eventually they will see how this pleases your parent(s), and want to do the same.

If there is resentment because of your good deeds, explain to them why you aim to be the best child you can be.  For one: It pleases Yahweh and He rewards you through blessings (heavenly presents).  Two: It makes life easier and more enjoyable for everyone in the family.  Three: it helps your parents out when you know that life can be stressful enough without the help of tantrums, and acts of disobedience.  Last but not least, it makes you feel joyful to know that you are doing what is right.
You may not be aware of it now, but your siblings will look at you for guidance either verbally or by observation.  You have a very noble and important role in the family.

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.”

Many children have Mother’s Day and Father’s Day to show their appreciation to their parents, and that may make their parents happy for that one day, but imagine how much happier they would be if their children were well behaved all the time!  And being well behaved doesn't cost a thing!  This is your moment to shine and to share your light with those around you.  And knowing parents, they will reward you for your deeds when they can.

Since birth, we are taught that attention is love.  So when we do not get it as often as we feel we should, we act up.  Then we find that we are awarded with attention, and that makes it all worth the spankings or time outs.  This should not be the case, my dear little believers.  We are no longer toddlers or babies, am I right?  Use what knowledge you have gained through scripture to help you in all situations.  Here are the scriptures that may help you stay focused.

“Sons are a heritage from Yahweh, children a reward from Him,”  Psalm 127:3.

Be the reward for your parents as Yahweh has intended.  Continue to make them proud, so that they can boast about you to their friends and relatives, and everyone will thank our heavenly Father for such well behaved blessings.

“Children, obey your parents in Yahweh, for this is right.  ‘Honor your father and mother’—which is the first commandment with a promise—’that your days may be long upon the earth,’”  Ephesians 6: 1-3.  A great promise indeed!

Everything will go well for you, and you will ENJOY long life on earth.  There are many that have lives that seem long, but in truth few get to enjoy them.  This is your chance to take part in one of the many promises of Yahweh.  Take advantage of it while you can.

“Children obey your parents in everything, for this pleases Yahweh,”  Colossians 3:20.  Here is proof that this is pleasing to Yahweh, and we all know and are taught that when we please Yahweh He will shower us in blessings, which are heavenly presents.  If you think these earthly presents are nice, wait until you see what blessings are like.  Nothing money can buy can even come close, and you can trust in this.  Now let’s put these words to use and see for yourselves the fruits of your labors.

Of course, being a light at home is needed, but did you know it doesn't have to stop there?  Every time you are anywhere, you can and should be a light to others.  Don’t allow your light to be limited at home.  Shine it at school, stores, and family functions.  Be a light of love for Yahweh no matter where you are.  Be the best student, child, friend, and peer all for Him.  Do not limit Yahweh in shining through you and making you a blessing to everyone.  Be proud of who you are for Him, and let the whole world know by your actions!  I am sure it will take a little time to get it right, but I know you can do it.  Never give up!  Thank you for reading.  Blessings.
