Calming the Storm

          inside this issue
While Yahshua Messiah was on earth, he performed many miracles.  Have you ever witnessed a really bad storm?  It can be terrifying to hear the loud thunder and see the flashing lightning.  Sometimes the wind can blow so strong it feels like the whole house will blow away!

One time Yahshua wanted to spend some time with His disciples, so they got on a boat and sailed out on the Sea of Galilee.  Yahshua eventually fell asleep on the boat.  Then a furious storm arose!  The storm was so bad that the disciples were terrified.  They woke Yahshua.  He looked at their frightened faces and said, “You men of little faith, why are you afraid?”  Then Yahshua caused the storm to cease.  The disciples were so surprised that they asked each other, “What kind of man is this?  Even the wind and the waves obey Him!”

They came to Yahshua and woke Him up, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm.

Another time, the disciples were in a boat by themselves when a storm arose.  On the shore, Yahshua saw that they were in trouble, so He walked across the sea toward the boat.  The disciples were afraid to see Someone walking on water!  But Peter said, “If it is really you, Yahshua, let me walk out to you.”  Yahshua allowed him.  At first Peter was doing fine, until he looked at the waves and panicked.  As he began to fall into the depths of the sea, Yahshua caught him.  This strengthened Peter’s faith.  He declared, “Truly, you are the son of Yahweh!”
