Q.  Is Satan a woman? I heard someone teaching that recently.

A.  While there are linguistic scholars who use feminine and masculine terms to describe certain words. It cannot be emphasized enough that the usage of such terms does not always mean types of literal gender. Professor Michael S. Heiser who wrote “Glossary of Morpho-Syntactic Database Terminology,” and is a Hebrew linguist himself, has spoken about this very thing in his lectures. He says looking closely at the morphology, and seeing “Scholar’s wording” of feminine and masculine, ends up causing people problems in their understanding of Scripture if they always take those terms literally. Satan is not a woman, but is an evil spirit.
