Q.  Is drinking alcohol allowed according to the Bible?

A.  According to Scripture, alcohol is alright, in moderation:
“Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!” (Isa 5:10)
It was even allowed (keeping in mind, moderation) for those keeping the sojourning Feasts (found in Lev 23) of Yahweh:
“And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before Yahweh thy Elohim, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,” Deut 14:26.
The reference of wine for Passover, however, is a misnomer. The Greek word “oinos” is NOT used in reference to the Passover in the New Testament, not even once. This is easily proven. Even when you look at the first reference in Scripture to “cup,” you find it is grapes being squeezed into it. In the New Testament the reference for “grape juice” is “fruit of the vine.”
